Course Description:
Large institutions often face challenges in coordinating pre-health advising across multiple colleges and departments. This session explores an effective model for advisor training, collaboration, and approaches to ensure consistent, student-centered guidance across complex university systems.
Course Objectives:
1. Describe an effective model for integrating pre-health advising across large or decentralized institutions.
2. Identify key strategies for advisor training, onboarding, and professional development.
3. Recognize barriers and best practices in fostering collaboration among faculty, staff, and professional advisors.
4. Develop approaches to ensure consistent, student-centered pre-health advising across units.
5. Advocate for the inclusion of pre-health advising perspectives in institutional planning and decision-making.
